now reading - valmiki ramayanam , Cho

and this is a subject of much discussion.

some unexpected humour from it-

soorpanakai comes to rama's cottage and instantly falls in love with his beauty.

Soorpanakai - who are you ?

Rama - I am rama, dasaratha's son, etc etc,... who are you ?

Soorpanakai - I will tell you the truth. I am a rakshasi and i have fallen in love with you. Please accept my love. don't waste your time with this
powerless, famished tummied, ugly looking seetha. I am all powerful and beautiful. Come lets enjoy these forests together (more exactly - naam iruvarum
ikkadugalil thirindhu kaliththiruppom)

Rama - Oh you are a beauty, but i am married man, and my wife is here. Instead look at lakshmana - he is a tigerish human, and he has no female company. So why don't you?

Soorpanakai turns her attention to lakshmana and then notices that he is no less and then says - Will you accept my company ?

lakshmana - But i not even a percentage of rama. He is my elder brother and the most powerful man in the world. You should really concentrate on rama(
ok - i am not exactly sure of this statement)

soorpanaka realises the mocking, turns to seetha and decides that she is the root cause of all evil, and pounces on her. The rest is the well known nose cutting

Bloopers :

lunch with saran and rizwan.

Saran : Ramar edhukku kattukkku ponaar ?

2)

Ramak - seedhai ponnae illa ( meaning Not exactly the biological daughter of janakar)

Saran - ponnae illayyaaa ?

// he is a tigerish human,//
what was the exact tamil sentence for this in the book. just curious.

//and he has no female company. So why don't you? //
and for this too. not so curious.

one doubt, wasn't soorpanakai who is a raakshasi/arakki suppose to be bad-looking. atleast thats what they showed in DoorDharshan Ramayanam
